I wish it was more widely known just how completely difficult it is to be a lesbian. This is just my experience and I’m sure many have it differently but I am just SO fucking lonely, I am 17 and have never been in a relationship. I’ve tried trying to message girls that I like and I’ve tried dating apps even though I’m not legally old enough to be on there and still nothing ever goes anywhere. All my friends are straight and have boyfriends and barely hang out with me anymore and I’m SO sad. I literally feel like I don’t have anyone in the world. I’m fem4fem exclusively which makes it so much harder for me because I don’t look gay and the girls that I’m attracted to don’t look gay so they don’t know and I don’t know. It doesn’t help that I grew up incredibly shy due to the way I was treated as a kid and still am so shy it’s honestly embarrassing.

Not to mention the troubles of trying to accept myself, I still feel uncomfortable telling people I think because I was outed to both my friends and family when I was very young. I think I’d have a much easier time accepting myself if I didn’t feel like being a lesbian was a sentence to loneliness, which so far it has been for me. I’m just constantly worried for my future and If I’m ever gonna get to have my firsts. I just feel so isolated, I don’t have one person I could talk to about the way I’ve been feeling lately and that makes me disgustingly sad. I just need a fucking hug and someone I can pour my heart out to and be comforted by. I feel like I’m running out of time to be loved. The fact I’m having to write something like this on here feels like such a low. None of my friends would ever have to do anything like this it’s sad.

I’m (29F) suddenly caring about things that I never cared about before all throughout my “eternal tomboy” life: I’m suddenly curious about what kind of perfume would be nice to smell when I’m wearing it (I already have vanilla scents in mind). I’m suddenly caring about my fashion sense; I suddenly care about what kinds of clothing would look nicest on me, for me. I suddenly care about how my short hair ought to be styled.

My eyes can’t help drift off to parts of other particular women that just stick out to me (respectfully, I swear). I suddenly care very much about the idea of dancing with somebody even though I’ve never once cared for dancing before. I have thoughts about a small, hopefully inexpensive wedding–what I’ll want to maybe be wearing by then, what kind of food and cake there’ll be–way in advance. All those love songs I once dismissed as silly, their lyrics feel so real now.
